Artist Statement

My work is rooted in a deep connection to the Armagh landscape, where rolling drumlins, winding roads, and hidden farm lanes shape a world both familiar and elusive. I paint not just what I see, but what I feel - the warmth of the sunlight breaking through mist, the hush of rain on hedgerows the quiet embrace of a country road disappearing into green.

There is a peace to be found in the simplicity of the everyday: forgotten corners of fields, the still presence of farm byres, the silhouettes of cows against the evening light. These places, often overlooked, hold stories - of childhood memories, of muddy lanes under well-worn boots, of derelict houses that once echoed with life. Through my work, I seek to evoke that sense of safety and familiarity, capturing the essence of time and place in a way that lingers, much like the land itself.

By blending colour, texture, and atmosphere, I invite the viewer to step into these landscapes, to find their own memories within them and to experience the quiet, enduring beauty of rural life.
